how the entities work....


ok the entities in chaos require no external game datta file to use...
thet are set up in classes...
each class represents a number of differant items
wich are randomly exchanged for each other as the game is played

this is simmeler to the 'TEAM' function in normal q2 but is not compatable...
there for the team function does not work in chaos at all...not eaven for doors
you will need to make a trigger for all multy part doors you need to make
sorry chaos just wouldnt work if this function was still in the game...

the team function is best seen on the level "tokays towers" in q2
there is a platform with the red armour and a rail gun that respawns as a bfg
off and on... thats why the teamed weapons of the rail gun and bfg simply do not exist in the map
when playing chaos...



1. the tech power ups spawn on the info_player deathmatch entities
they spaw randomly so no new entitie is needed to spawn them...
wile testing your map if you only have 1 or 2 info player deathmatch,s in the room or level you will
tellefrag your self apon starting the level...this is becouse of the tecks spawning at the same time with
you on 1 player start....this is not an error
this problem will disapear with 3 or 4 player starts in the map... so dont worry

2. when you compile your map use this comand line in the game parimiters
C:\Quake2\quake2.exe +set game CHAOS +set deathmatch 1 +set ctf 0 +menu_main
that way the map will compile in chaos and you will get a better idea as to how to do things...

3.the classes...weapons

shot gun = chain saw and bastard sword...the shot gun its self has been removed
super shotgun = super shot gun
machine gun = the cross bow...the macine gun has been removed
chain gun = the air fist...the chain gun has been removed
grenaid launcher = normal grenaid launcher and the proxi grenaid launcher
rocket launcher = the normal rocket launcher
hyper blaster = the normal hyper blaster
rail gun = normal rail gun and buzz saw gun
bfg = bfg , gravity vortex and the 2 types of turrets

4. the classes ammo

shot gun shels = shot gun shels and explosive shells
bullets = all 3 types of arrows
grenaids = all 5 typs of grenaids
cells = cells
slugs = slugs and buzzsaws

5. the classes items

the following items are randomly exchanged by each other:
(grapple and jetpack apear more often than the others)

- quad damage
- jetpack
- grappling hook
- adrenaline
- invisibility
- silencer
