nat,s little tutorial...
this is just a little bit on how i do things in chaos
i  in no way know all and this may be the right or wrong way to
do things i dont know , this is just how i do things...
this is also for biggining mappers



my gidelines for my self...

i make strictly death match levels...
making maps for death match to me is far harder than making
single player...in single player you have a lot more freedom
as far as architexture goes...a simgle player map dosnt need to
worry about r_speeds or running smoothly on 33.6 intenet
connections neerly as much as a dm...
thus you can do more...
also on a single player map you have a more straight form
of gameplay...
in deathmatch the rooms need to be connected with 2,3 or4 ways in and
out of each area...



vis...
the best way to block vis and keep the over all r_speeds down is to use right angles
try not to have an extreamly large room be accessable thrue a straight hallway
try to put a right angle turn in the hall before the big room...
also try not to have large"towers' or likewise standing alone in the center
of an area

do not carve!!!!!
or if you do try it the way i suggesst...



avoiding overflow in chaos....

try to keep the entities that cause a lot of lagg out of vis sight to each other
like dont put 25 ammo_grenaids in one room with 2 turrets
as too much action in one vis seeing area will cause the overflow errors and
game crash outs...



try to keep it neet in your edditor
biuld the map 1 area at a time
compile often {a full compile} to check for errors and to
physicly go in and check to make shure everything is ok
try to keep your r_speeds under 500 for good net play
if an error does happen fix it emidiatly...do not continiue working
and then look for it later as the once small error may made larger and un repairable
as you biuld
biuld your levels like you are playing with leggos.
brush by brush...
dont make rooms by making a big brush and "making it hollow"
