carving...


ok... carving is the biggest cause of errors i have come accross in mapping
but if you are going to carve please follow these giudlines...
 
 



 
ok first thing
is to carve the smallest possible
area
dont just carve an
entire wall 
make a small
brush 
carve that,
then biuld around it
even thow it looks like 
the pic i labled as
"wrong" seams to have 
less brush faces
they are not as neat
and harder to manage 
than the one labled
"right"
also carving a hole in a big wall
can create invaled brushes
they may look ok in the game
but they will slow down 
your r_speeds
and increase your compile time
and posibly leed to overflow crashes
that would not have happened if the 
carving was done the right way
