16 million color Head Drawing:

Now of course not everyone want a mean tough looking head, thus to scare people away, but if you do, this is the tutor for you. You can use this method to make one nice looking, but this one turned out a bit meaner looking than I had planned. ;)

head1.gif (553 bytes)1. Starting with the wireframe.

head2.gif (601 bytes)2. set your colors like you want them to be for working on this project, and then, using the wireframe, find special point lines like I have marked here: eyes, jaw, cheeks, mouth, nose, forehead.

head3.gif (1520 bytes)3. Now, increase your color depth to 16 million, and (as with the arms) use you retouch button, size: 5, mode: lighten/darken, shape: round, opacity: 30, and draw the outline areas of how you want your face to look.

head4.gif (1550 bytes)4. Because of the high detail of the human face you are going to have to adjust your Retouch Size to 1, and work mostly with that.

head5.gif (1728 bytes)ONLY draw one side of the face, then copy that over to the other side to save time, and get the sides equal. Also, at this point your head will more than likely look ugly anyway, don't worry, you have plenty of time to make all your corrections later.

head6.gif (2074 bytes)To this point all detail was added with the RETOUCH, size:1, lighten or darken, opacity: 30.

head7.gif (2221 bytes)Continue zooming in and out and looking at your face to see that you are getting what you want.

head8.gif (2282 bytes)When its done and symmetrical, add some lighting to one side to give it a more realistic effect.

head9.gif (2221 bytes)Load the q2 palette (best to load a custom version such as browns or flesh), and your finished.

head10.gif (3472 bytes)This is how it would look on the model, and yes, he's one ugly bastard. ;)
As you can see, I made a few model to skin mistakes, but I did draw this head very quicky just to show how I do it.
