INSTALLATION
Unzip the pak9_eternal.pk3, and the other files to c:/quake3/baseq3 directory, or where you installed quake3. This will replace your existing menu with my new one, and add all the features listed below.

Or create a new folder within c:/quake3 called eternal, like this c:/quake3/eternal, then choose to run it from the mods menu within the game. Though I think this way is pointless, when the whole concept of the new menu was to save time, and it seems silly then to waste time again having to select it from within the game.

Make sure that this is the last numbered pak file. ie: pak0, pak1, pak2, and pak9_eternal, so that my menu is the last pak that quake3 will read and then impliment my menu over the original.

MOVE ANY EXISTING QAGAME.DLL, CGAME.DLL, or UI.DLL OR ANY OTHER MODS OUT OF YOUR QUAKE3 DIRECTORY!!!!

If you want to get rid of my mod, then just delete the pak9_eternal file from your quake3/baseq3 folder.

PURE SERVERS OFF

You MUST have the "PURE SERVERS SWITCHED OFF" to play Eternal Arena, or the game will kick you back to the menu

That why in from version2.2, I have set the game to automatically choose "pure servers off", this should save my forum from being flooded with people saying that the mod just kicks them back to the menu.

MINIGUN OPTION
I have now put the minigun into a separate pk3 file, so you can choose to use the new minigun or the original machingegun as only the model, icons and sounds are replaced. So if you still want to use the machinegun then just don't bothered unpacking the minigun pk3 to your quake3 folder.
FONTS OPTION
I've also put the new fonts into a pk3 file of their own, so if you didn't like the fonts then again don't bothered unpacking this pk3 then.
SAVE & LOAD CONFIGS
This is a great addition, you can now choose to load individual player configs.

You only need to save your config, to create a config with your name, ie: CORVEN.cfg, then all you need to do if someone else has been playing whilst you have been away, is goto "load" and choose your config name, it will then refresh the game with all your options and game settings, player settings etc.. when you've finished playing remember to save your config file again.

Alternately, you could create another shortcut to quake3.exe and add this to the end of the command line:-

C:\Quake3\quake3.exe +exec CORVEN.cfg +set sv_pure 0

The first part is the path to the quake3 program then it tells the game to load in your config too and finally sets it to non-pure servers, so you shouldn't get any problems running the skirmish arena mod.

When you first load up quake3, the main menu will show you who is the current player.

WEAPON POSITIONING
Now you can choose where you want the weapon drawn, either on the original right-hand side, of for those left-handers amongst us, on the left obviously, and even in the middle for those doom fanatics. Sorry but I haven't been able to get this onto a menu yet, so you have to change it from the console, type in the following command:-

/cg_drawWeaponpos x  where x is 1 for right, 2 for middle or 3 for left.

PLAYER CLOAKING
This will make you temporarily cloaked (invisible) but whilst you are cloaked your health will drop to a minimum of 10, then you will automatically be decloaked. You can use the console command to bind the cloaking, where "x" is the key you want to use for the command.
WEAPON DROPPING
When playing a team game sometimes it might be necessary to share your weapons with team members, and now you can, just bind a key to this command and it will throw the current weapon your holding out infront of you, ready for your team mate to pickup.
SUICIDE BLAST
When you commit suicide, it usually means giving you -1 frag, but now its worth it, when you can take out a room full of players/bots with a huge blast.
ROCKET JUMPING
So you've never been able to master the rocket jump? Don't worry now the game will do a perfect rocket jump for you, just bind a key to the command and watch your player fly. Default is bound to "J".
GUIDED ROCKETS
This is the 1st alternate firemode for the rocket launcher, when switched on, just fire a rocket then point with the mouse where you want it to go, otherwise when off it will fire a normal straight rocket.
REMOTE DETONATION PIPEBOMBS
Alt-fire for grenade launcher now includes det-pipes, you fire off a grenade which will stick to a non-damagable surface, then when your ready hit the detonation key, which you can bind from the eternal menu, and that will explode the grenade.
IMPACT PLASMA BOMBS
Switch to this bomb, and it will slowly fire off a plasma ball, which will explode on impact in a blue ball of flame, it has a larger splash damage obviously than the normal faster plasma balls.
MOTION TRACKER
No more hunting through large levels for bots/players, now you can track their every move, and even see if their above or below you. Just bind this command to a key from the menu, and in the game hold down the key to have a scanner appear on the HUD to the right, which will show you all the players positions.
ETERNAL OPTIONS MENU
I've added some adjustable game variables to the eternal menu, such as the no team coloured skins option, game speed, game gravity, knockback value, warmup timer. If you don't know what any of these do then DO NOT mess with them, just leave the settings as they are.
HUD OPTIONS
The new HUD features can be toggled on/off from the "ETERNAL" menu, under "toggles".
