Saturday 13th September, 1997 ================================================================ Title : Monserat Filename : monserat.bsp Author : Alex Vincent Email Address : alex@far2cool.demon.co.uk Homepage : http://www.far2cool.demon.co.uk Description : In this level I have tried to combine the aspect of cool corridor fighting, and some opportunites of long range rocket gibs, which as we all know are very VERY satisfing!! There are all the weapons and a quad-damage and ring of shadows, and a fair amount of ammo boxes as well. And there are plenty of walls to hide behind to dodge nails and rockets if you dont find any of these weapons! And health scattered around just to keep you alive! This is my first ever public release deathmatch level. I have made many levels, but never felt inclined to release a 'less-than-perfect' level on the gaimng comuunity! It has seven starts, and is meant for a medium sized number of people having a 'frag-fest' on a local LAN party. About four to six people would suit it best although fewer or more would still be cool. There are four secrets, some obvious, some not. But all can be found with a decent amount of looking around. This level was initially incrediably detailed, but when I came around to doing the full vis, its was full of grey. Hence I have had to take out a load of the cool architecture, in fact all of it is gone...bye, bye 16 sided pillars. :( But next time, I will know and the level design will account for this. I play quake in lowest resolution, on a P75, and on this machine there is no grey, but if you run on a slower machine, or in a much higher resolution it might go grey on you. :( tough! Additional Credits to : Worldcraft, for being such a cool editor. John, for letting me use his kick-arse PC to compile this kick-arse level. And to all the people at Warwick for making me so DAMN GOOD at Quake by using them for target practise, including Nightfly, Ben, Shafter and Boomchigger. Info about the Author : Currently doing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. I'm currently interested in Quake and the programming behind it, and intend to be involved in a number of TCs very soon. Other Levels by Author : Several more maps to come, which are partially finished at the moment, and also mojo.map for Duke Nukem 3D. Author's plug : IdSoftware, Rogue entertainment, Hipnotic, 3DRealms, etc... Give me a job! Or at least a P2 300mhz! ================================================================ * Play Information * Single Player : If you have no friends.
