Gloomy with grand and dominant architecture of metal trims, white wooded strips and green panels. There are two versions of Charmhood - Single Player, make your way through the onslaught of monsters that spawn in and collect the four runes which will lead you to the exit. Deathmatch, with a large central area, it can hold a number of players or quite easily support a duel. Story : Charmhood is an ancient temple of worship. Quake's warriors would go there to focus their thoughts and worship Shub. But soon the humans took over the 'green cathedral' and Shub was destroyed. In time, Charmhood was retaken by Quake's forces, and is a highly protected region. Charmhood is setup like a giant trap, anyone who enters will be detected by many Quake monsters who will spawn in. Your only escape is to hold them off long enough for you to find the four runes required to exit. Other Info : I planned on doing a Q1DM which would also have a secret trigger to become SP. I wanted to make this a level pack and some others could perhaps contribute too. However, no one was that interested, so my idea was pushed aside. A month later I made this level (first intended to be Nehahra DM), but instead decided to do it as normal Q1DM, and also have another version that's Q1SP. The SP isn't up to the standards of my last two Quake levels, because it's based in a simple DM level. It is still a blast though, and quite difficult with about 70 monsters.
