------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ JVdm2 A small deathmatch map for Quake designed for 2 to 4 players 1st October 2000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Created by John Vodden (aka Vrajgh) e-mail: John.Vodden@talk21.com Visit my website: www.geocities.com/chasm_2042 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks to Id for making Quake, to Yahn Bernier for making BSP and to Deadmeat for running BSP Headquarters and for writing the tutorials which taught me how to map. Special thanks to TargeT for testing the map and giving me some very detailed and useful feedback which allowed me to make this map better than it would otherwise have been. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ single play=no coop =no deathmatch= YES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Build time......ages! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ qbsp -bspleak = 54 seconds tyrlite -extra = 211 seconds vis -level 4 = 232 seconds Machine was (and still is) a P233 with only 16MB RAM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Installing and running this map Unzip "jvdm2.bsp" from the zip file into the .\quake\id1\maps directory. Then from the Quake directory run quake by typing "quake +map jvdm2" (no Quotes). Alternativly run Quake and pull down the console with the ~ key (the one next to the 1) and type "map jvdm2" (again, no quotes). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I tested this map using both GLQuake (version 0.97) and dos Quake (version 1.08). Unfortunately if you run a low end PC (like me!) then there is an area of the map that has a very high brush count and is likely to run slowly in software mode. Try it and see what you think! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ !!Happy Fragging!!
