Quake Single Player map - Caelestis Tumultus - 21st July 2004 - v1.1 ============================================================================= - Title : Caelestis Tumultus - Filename : awsp1.bsp - Author : Andrew "Starfire21" White - Email Address : andrew.white@zen.co.uk / reltrethan@hotmail.com - Description : Medieval/Gothic.. Varies ============================================================================= * Important Info * - Story : Roughly a decade has past since Quake's minions first sought to relinquish control of Earth from us. with the accumulated death-toll from both sides soaring into the billions, the scales of this war have tipped precariously either way many times over. With what seems a temporary lull in front-line fighting, you have been called back, but not to rest on your laurels.. An old building, run by a man of equally dubious age, has been rattling around here for some time, waiting for a Veteran to be sent for observation. This building was once regularly used to test the combat reflexes, awareness and situation-handling of Earth's grunts, but it's been some time since anyone with a decorated history has taken what they simply call 'The Test', let alone pass it. Time to help your fellow man understand real combat. Remember, you'll be watched, and questions may be asked at the end. - Compatability : Important: This map was designed for GLQuake. Other versions of Quake should work, although I can't guaruntee the quality. For WinQuake, turn the brightness down to minimum to get is as close to intended as possible. Some versions will require higher memory settings when run. ============================================================================= * Play Information * - Single Player : Yes - Cooperative : Yes - Deathmatch : No - Difficulty Settings : Yes (Easy/Normal/Hard/Nightmare - 69/80/94/94) - New Textures : Yes (16 new, 96 total. By default, this will be c:\quake\id1\maps. Create a 'maps' folder there if one doesn't exist. Once in-game, go to the console and type 'map awsp1' without the quotes. - Selecting Difficulty : There are four portals to choose the difficulty of this level. They are in the first room on the left, and the Nightmare portal must be found (there are three different ways to get to it, in the start area!) Otherwise, type 'skill 0' in console for easy, 'skill 1' for normal, 'skill 2' for Hard and 'skill 3' for Nightmare, then type 'kill' to restart with these settings, all without the quotes. - Feedback : This is my first ever map, and I'd be very interested to hear your feedback, whether it be good, bad, informative or otherwise. Even just a note to say you played it would be great. It might just be enough to make me put aside the time to make another :) I'd love to, but need reason to. You can contact me at andrew.white@zen.co.uk - Special Thanks : Bengt Jardrup for txqbspbjp (TreeQBSP) and visbjp (RVis & Light), Ben Morris for Worldcraft, my four lovely assistants (testers), Loki at The Forge for his excellent tutorials, and finally all the die-hard Quake players, mappers and supporters who are keeping the community alive! ============================================================================= * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may use this level as a base for building additional levels, but you must contact me for permission and details first.
