December 16, 2000 =================================================================== Title : Periwinkle Paranoia Filename : edge1.zip Author : Noel Lacaillade aka Edgecrusher Email Address : devin1234@msn.com Credits : Iikka Keranen for the beautiful ikblue textures and the sky Ritual Entertainment for the purple rift teleport texture from scourge of armagon and a fantastic mission pack of the same name Aardappel for running the 100 brush contest Ben Morris for Worldcraft Jack Meacher for testing and useful feedback Paul Brosche for testing and convincing me to rebuild the level Shambler for still reviewing spq and answering questions Fear Factory for the great sound and the song from which my name spawned Description : Edgecrusher saw that there was a 100 brush competition going, but had no time to make a map. By a stroke of luck, a sudden snowstorm hits, and i have no school. What to do..... I made this map in 8 hours pretty much. I did'nt want to fuck around with it to much. I focused on gameplay a lot more than architecture, coherence, lighting or anything else. On hard it is very hard, so you're warned. Oh, and on the name, i ran out of synanoms for blue, periwinkle was the only unused one i could think of. I used the ikblue texture wad and the blue sky from the ikbase wad. I also used the purple rift teleport from scourge of armagon. I used Worldcraft, which seems to have the most user friendly interface. 99 brushes, 249 entities. The compile time was very quick. Monster Count : Easy - 39 I really would'nt bother. The level is boring at this level. Normal - 104 This is above average for normal, but still definately beatable. Hard - 132 This is tough, but if you strafe a lot, you should have an easier time. i had to take out 4 ogres, because i kept on getting packet overflow problems. Taking out the ogres solved the problem, but made the level easier since they rained grenades from above you when you first started out. And i had to take out two fiends, because they did'nt show up in the game for some reason. This is the first level i have ever made for any game, so... ...if you liked it, hated it, whatever, e-mail me and let me know. Have fun!!!
