------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dorghael Arhlannen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "All that we were, passes; A sheaf of dry grasses That late in green meads blew, To this end are we come. Passed on, sceptre and crown, Justice and rule, laid down, As least man must, we rest Silent, in our long home." "The tourches fluttered, and from the open doorway the darkness billowed out like curtains in the wind. A slight rush of air swirled out after it, a waft of odours strange to the cold corridors, a heavy, stifling weight of dust and must, a strange scent tinged with thin spiciness, with aromatic resins and pungent balsam. It was such a smell as antiquity might have, the dust of withered summers, of faded years..." "The Tale of Lords, the tally of kings...as you feared this is no common hiding place. We have strayed into the crypts of the ancient King's House, and by your craft laid open the place called Dorghael Arhlannen, vault and tomb of the Kings in the realm of Morvan, the deepest hallow of all that land. And all around us they lie." - Winter of the World Volume 2, The Forge in the Forest: Michael Scott Rohan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title : Dorghael Arhlannen Filename : shesp1 Author : S.Ives, aka 'Sidhe' Email : sives30@hotmail.com Description : 1 level single player Quake1 using Quoth; my first ever Quake release. Thematically based on 'The Winter of the World' trilogy by Michael Scott Rohan, using the IKWhite versions of the IKBLUE texture wad by Iikka Keränen created by killjoy, expanded by me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To play: I strongly recommend Fitzquake as the engine which will give you the best experience of this map. Requires the Quoth and Quoth2 expansion packs and the Quoth2 update. Download and install Quoth ( 2.1 ) as per the quoth readme. Unzip shesp1.bsp, shesp1_crystal_1.bsp, shesp1_crystal_2.bsp and shesp1_crystal_3.bsp to your /quoth/maps folder; if you don't have one, make one. All four bsps need to be unzipped to your maps folder, otherwise your experience of this map will be incomplete. Launch your chosen Quake engine, bring down the console and type: map shesp1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game :Quoth ( 2.1 ) Single Player :Yes Co-op :Yes, hidden extra for co-op Deathmatch :No Skill settings :Yes Editor :GtkRadiant 1.5.0 Texture wad :IKWhite.wad.
