******************************************** * * FileStar/2 * Version 2.00.2 * CSD Level xxxxxxx * * * SofTouch Systems, Inc. * 1300 S. To install the corrective service, follow the procedure described on page 4 of the FileStar/2 Technical Reference manual. Corrective Service files are cumulative. The latest CSD file contains fixes found in all previous CSD files. This is the first CSD for FileStar/2, version 2.00. All version 2.00 users should apply this CSD. If while attempting to apply this CSD you encounter the error message pop-up with the title which reads "Base Level Invalid", it means that the version information stored in the INI files could not be found. This information was placed there during the installation of the base product, but is no longer there. You must reinstall the base product and then apply this CSD. *************************** V2.00.1 ***************************** The baseline version 2 product was 2.00.1. *************************** V2.00.2 ***************************** The items fixed in Version 2.00.2 are: 1. OS/2 version 2.1x would either fail to load or ran very slowly after start. 2. Object Desktop would grab the focus on start up and after completion of most functions. This was noted in Warp for Windows only with Object Desktop v1.5 and with all versions of Warp with Object Desktop v1.0-1.4. 3. The Object Desktop rollup feature would cause internal window mis-sizing when unrolled. 4. The Copy Error dialog 'Skip' pushbutton would not skip the current file but instead recalled the dialog for the same file error in drag Copy or Move operations. 5. If the program was minimized or maximized and then restored in the custom wimdow style, the recessive File window would blank on activation. 6. On startup, the Drive and/or Directory windows would not match the active File Window in some instances. 7. The User Defined Associations File Filters required a semicolon delimiter to work and would crash the program if a comma was used as a delimiter. It was easy to mistake the example on the dialog as commas instead of the required semicolons. The program will now accept either semicolons or commas delimiters and also trailing semicolons. 8. Detailed shading of the text windows in the Data Panel was compromised to accomodate a bug in OS/2 FixPak 17 in v2.00.1. This bug has been fixed in FixPak 22. The code has been restored to correctly draw the shaded windows. If you are using FP17, you will see the top of each window unshaded, distorting what was intended. Apply FP22 to restore correct shading. 9. The startup code has been revised to decrease the time required to display the main window and to fix an access violation when starting as a swap window from the startup folder. 10. There were some instances where proper internal window sizing was affected by combinations of windowing controls, such as minimizing or maximizing from a swap window with an internal window maximized, or changes in menu fonts or in what mode the program was started. The possible combinations are numerous. All improper moding that has been noted is corrected. 11. User defined file associations were not being recognized when double clicked on inside a zip file when viewed with ZipView. 12. Grayed the move and delete functions when a CDROM is the active device. 13. Fixed am access violation when using File Find and double clicking to go to a directory in the found list box. 14. The parent directory pushbuttons were not functioning correctly when Multiple Trees was in use. 15. The mini-icon setting was not restored after a directory compare operation and any action after initialization would restore normal icons if shutdown was made after setting mini- icons. 16. Some users were expecting the Drive Used/Free buttons to toggle the Drive Used/Free and Total Used/Free sums. Any operation after the display of the Total Used/Free will revert the display to Drive Used/Free. Either button now toggles the sum data. 17. Selecting File Compare in the Directory Compare display did not function. 18. There was a keystroke conflict on the use of the '*' as a wildcard character in some entry fields and the Shift '*' used to Load Subjects. The latter has been changed to Alt Shift '*' and the Directories menus have been changed to show the new required keystrokes to Load Subjects. 19. The hot keys for resetting the internal window ring were changed from Shift 'W' to Alt Shift 'W' to eliminate the possiblity of unintentionally resetting the windows while entering text in entry fields. 20. The hot keys for activating the Window Options menu were changed from Shift '?' to Ctrl Shift '?' to allow use of the '?' character in the multiple file rename entry field. 21. Selecting a DateTime or Attributes change dialog and then canceling would crash the program if Rename was subsequently selected with no other actions performed. 22. The Print function would not work when configured to run an external program on the External Programs page of the Setup notebook. It will now function with an External Program of your choice or you may enter 'PRINT.COM' as the external print program to cause it to bypass the internal print function and print directly to the configured printer port. If the 'Print' External Program entry is left blank, the internal print interface is used. This is the 'Default' action when selecting 'Print' from the file menus. Additionally, hot keys and menu options have been assigned to allow printing directly to the spooler (Ctrl P) through the OS/2 file 'PRINT. COM' or to use the internal Print Option dialogs (Ctrl Alt P), regardless of the presence of a user defined print program. 23. File List printing did not work. 24. A SYS3175 access violation, when selecting a different printer form in the Print Setup dialog, was fixed. 25. An additional command line switch, /a, is available to cause external sessions started with either the Execute dialog or the Toolbar Launch Execute Program to autoclose on completion. Just add this switch to the Execute entry field or the Execute Program command Parameters field in the toolbar item setup notebook. 26. The message window was wiping out some messages before the set persistence time. The moding of the window was improved. 27. Renaming of multiple files was adversely affected bu items 18, 19, and 20. 28. The loading of longname EAs was moded differently to eliminate the associated performance penalty on FAT drives. This was very noticeable on floppies and Zip drives. The change results in a drive rescan to get the longname EAs if either drive in a Directory Compare function is a FAT drive and loading of longname Eas is not enabled. 29. Some hot key use was not properly resetting the Alt key such that double clicking on a drive or directory after their use would result in the Alt Enter (double click) command and open the WPS drive or folder objects. 30. Several other cosmetic and lesser operating anomalies were coorected. Further fine tuning for improved speed and interface consistency has been made. ************************** Operating System Anomalies ************************** 1. Warp users without at least FixPak 10 applied will sometimes experience video corruption after a drag operation, especially while dragging the toolbar items. There is no cure other than applying FixPak 10 or later. After it occurs, it is persistent until the application is shutdown and resarted. 2. Users with FixPak 17 appiled will have the shading at the top of static text windows overwritten by the window. This will be most apparent in the windows in the Data Panel at the bottom of the FileStar/2 display. FixPak 22 corrects this problem. ***************** New Toolbar Items ***************** Added five additional builtin toolbar items to make it easier to implement the following capabilities; 1. Directory rescan. 2. Anti-Virus submenu. 3. Anti-Virus drive scan. 4. Anti-Virus directory scan. 5. Anti-Virus file scan. To use the anti-virus items, Alt drag and drop the drive, directory and file AV toolbar items on the AV submenu. Then edit each item by right clicking on it and selecting Edit Item from the context menu. The Execute Program must be set in the Function field and the following examples show the command lines to enter in the Parameters field if using IBMAV. Consult your documentation for the command line parameters for other anti-virus products. Command line parameters for IBMAV; AV file scan; X:\PATH\IBMAVSP.EXE -LOG -SCOMP %F AV dir scan; X:\PATH\IBMAVSP.EXE -LOG %D AV drive scan; X:\PATH\IBMAVSP.EXE -LOG %V Selection of the appropriate toolbar item will result in an AV scan on the selected file, directory or drive.
