Added PB to the Cache string when pipeline burst cache is detected. 2. Fixed problem with the startup string on the TEAC 6X CD-ROM to show proper ID of CD-56E. 3. Fixed problem with Adaptec SCSI/IDE CDROM booting. 4. Added PB to the Cache string when pipeline burst cache is detected. 5. Hitachi CDR-7730 set to mode 0 IORDY to solve timing problems. 6. Hot keys disabled during password. 7. Fixed problem with the CD-ROM TEAC 6X taking too long during POST after floppy detection. 8. Added text to the Boot Sequence field in the Setup utility for the CD-ROM boot. 9. Fixed the problem which was causing an error to be displayed at the end of post indicating NVRAM Checksum Invalid, NVRAM Cleared. 10. Changed the CMOS Defaults to match what was on A02. 11. Changed Drive Type help text to accomodate the new Physical drive mapping. 12. Fixed a problem with password prompt was being skipped if Setup Utility was entered and exited without bootingthe system. 13. Fixed a problem with PIIX IDE Master latency Timer programming which was causing a GP fault when disabled in Win 95. 14. Changed the CMOS clear procedure to check for all bytes the same VS. all bytes zero. 15. Added support to Intel Specific Int15 to also return CPUs internal speed. 16. Added support for Turbo/Deturbo in Protected Mode. 17. Added code to reset the IDE hard drives before a hard reset is issued to fix a problem with slow drives and OS/2 Warp shutting down. 18. Added National 306B support. 19. Changed code to correctly return the status of the PIIX IDE. 20. Changed mouse devnode from static node to dynamic node. 21. Added code to map the IDE drives Physically vs. Logically in the Setup Utility. 22. Changed the resource allocation per Win 95. This means that IPL and Generic device resources are allocated before PCI resources are allocated. 23. Added a CMOS Bit to the hard drives to be able to disable Individual hard drives. 24. Added ATAPI Detection and Boot support. 25. Removed IDE Initialization Timout and Pre Delay per changes to the ATAPI code which changed the way we wait for the Hard Drive to respond back to any commands. 26. Changed code to have the IDEC Table float through the Flash area and dispatch it when needed vs. a fixed address. 27. Added Product Information Storage Capability for Manufacturing and OEM use. 28. Added support for Int15 AH=C7, Return Memory map Information. This is required for OS/2 supporting greater than 64M memory. 29. Changed resource manager code to leave a dummy entry in the resource list when a resource is disabled and released. This gives capability of enabling the resource within the PnP OS. 30. Added code to program cache line size and Master Latency Timer for Bridges. 31. Made sure all 32-bit registers are preserved on Get Node calls. 32. Changed PUT and GET parameter checking for invalid combinations. This allows Win 95 BIOSTEST to pass. 33. Updated code to reflect PnP Rev 1.0A for Node attributes. 34. Took out code which checked for invalid bus for configuration space read and write. This was a feedback from SIG. 35. Aligned memory requests in 400H block boundries to conform to PCI Spec. 36. Added code to make sure that a device is initialized and resource manager data structure is set-up correctly before a resource is freed. ******************************************************************** * * * A02 * * * ******************************************************************** DELL COMPUTER CORPORATION BIOS RELEASE NOTES Copyright 1995 Dell Computer Corporation.
