=========================================================================== Advanced engine needed : Boom compatible/limit removing Primary purpose : Single, Multi =========================================================================== Title : Chromatic Oblivion Filename : chromatic.wad Release date : 8/16/2026 Author : Austin Mackert ("amackert") Email Address : amackertafterdark@gmail.com Other Files By Author : afflicted.wad Description : A series of slaughter maps focusing on large, enclosed arenas, symmetrical layouts, flashing lights, high enemy counts and more streamlined, arcade-like gameplay where sitting still is unadvised. Being my second map set, this started off as a single level where my goal was to make something that was very copy-paste like, thinking to myself that it would be easy. I also wanted to experiment with using a different set of textures for the first time (i.e., OTEX), rather than mess with stock DOOM II textures again. Needless to say, eight months and roughly eight maps later, I concluded it was *not* easy and the whole thing ended up being a huge learning experience overall. Enjoy! Known Bugs/Issues : 1. A couple maps may run poorly overall in ZDoom-based ports or on lower-end systems. Recommend UZDOOM as it seems to run the best of ZDoom derivatives. 2. Multiplayer is there (both co-op and DM), but it is untested. Reach out to me on Doomworld if with feedback about issues. * Music * Title Screen - "Ambiguous" - AD_79 Map 01 (Replication Grid) - "Polaris" - AD_79 Map 02 (Collision Chamber) - "Dihydrogen Monoxide" - AD_79 Map 03 (Greenline Overdrive) - "Hard Drive" - AD_79 Map 04 (Cobalt Vault) - "Diaphragm" - AD_79 Map 05 (Distant Core) - "Arrival" - AD_79 Map 06 (Regressive State) - "Undefined" - AD_79 Map 07 (Terminal Relay) - "Accelerator" - AD_79 Map 08 (Chromatic) - "Empire Built Upon Lies" - AD_79 Intermission Screen - "Waiting Room" - AD_79 Text Screen - "Fabricated Paradise" - AD_79 More of AD_79's music here: https://ad-79.bandcamp.com https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/106316-ad-midis-updated-2024-03-26-135-tracks/ * Copyright / Permissions * You MAY distribute this file, provided you include this text file, with no modifications.
