All textures follow the naming convention required SMV*****
and to keep the import number down some have been combined
into single large textures. Regarding sources, numerous textures were borrowed
 from Ghosttex.wad (via Realm667) and a few Duke3D textures,
along with a decent number of textures that I [ShadowyMV] created from scratch.
The wad also includes an edited SWITCHES & ANIMATED lump for some of
the new textures, while an ANIMDEFS has also been included to make them work
on Gz/UzDoom. Full texture credits below:

==============
MAP01: Imp'troduction
Mapper: purple_ruberoid
Midi: RETALIATION by saneway
Comments:
Yeah, just an intro map, I think it's below medium by difficulty.
I think I started to like to include some geometry transformations into my maps. 'Stair-builders' without using stair-builder specials included.
I had to hold myself from diving too much into detailing to be able to make this map in time before the project announcement - it's nice to have an example map for a project

MAP02: Imp Meat Playground
Mapper: cynir
Midi: Slaying At Night by Peter Lawrence/Megasphere
Comments:
This is my first submission to a community project! I'm a pretty new mapper and I wanted to debut in a relatively low stakes and fun environment.
I underestimated how much surface area that I'd need to reach a chunky monster count (something I do a lot!) so I've met the UV minimum exactly at 500 imps and a lone cyberdemon.
I think I definitely need to work on being more comfortable creating a map's layout before beginning texture/architecture work.
I'd say this is loosely inspired by BTSX and Skillsaw's stuff but it's mostly the result of me throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what stuck.
Hope it's to your liking <3

MAP04: Oops...All Imps!
Mapper: UmbrellaFight
Midi: "Under Logic" / Streets of Rage 2 / Sequenced by Gecko Yamori [vgmusic.com]
Comments:
I've only made one other map in the past to completion. This is my 2nd map I've ever completed and my first submission to a community project. I took some time to learn a little ACS scripting to get some of the lighting effects on the 2nd portion of the map. I wasn't really going for any particular thing while I was making this, it was kind of stream of conciousness - but somehow I wound up with an Imp night club! Haha - this was super fun to make and I hope you enjoy your time blasting away all these poor saps! :)
I'd consider this map a easy>medium difficulty on UV (but watch out for those two archies!) - however it's a breeze on HMP and below. I didn't tone down the monsters, but health is a-plenty on lower difficulties! Good luck, have fun, and I hope you're at least a small bit...IMPressed!

MAP05: IMPact
Mapper: TonkoBanjo
Midi: Steriogram - Walkie Talkie Man.mid
Comments:
Despite my rather short par time, I imagine that someone playing my level for the first time would take 15-ish minutes to beat it. I'm not usually a fan of slaughter maps, but this was fun to make :)

MAP06: IMProper Cathedral
Mapper: AleksB
Midi: Bells of Agony by Aubrey Hodges
Comments:
I cant believe I was able to get a complete map done with 18 straight hours of mapping...
I loaded the map up starting at 7:45 am Chicago time and finished it at 3:30 am.. Talk about cutting it close! I honestly didnt think I was going to be able to get it out, but low and behold, I got er' done. Plentiful rockets and health to get you through point A to point B. I wish I was able to have more time to work on this map, but life just got in the way and I just wasnt able to work on this as much as I wanted. Its not as detailed as I wouldve wanted it to be, I probably woulda had a better looking map or more detailed map givin if I was able to spend more time on it. I still think the map looks great and plays great givin the circumstances. Enjoy everyone! Now it is time for some much needed sleep..

MAP07: Impetigo
Mapper: Shove82
Midi: "Space Cuisine" by James Paddock
Comments:
This one was rushed for the deadline, so it's kinda short. But I had to do an orange highlight map for this years project too.

MAP08: IMPoster Syndrome
Mapper: DoomGappy
Midi: Fire Hive by Jimmy from Plutonia MIDI Pack
Comments:
Fun to make! I limited myself to 1024x1024 (as usual), but it was very interesting to use this size limitation for a map with only the rocket launcher. I don't know how it will work on continuous, but on pistol start it's pretty rough.

MAP09: Feel Good Imp
Mapper: Merrick
Midi: Megalovania - Undertale (sequenced by silentzorah)
Comments:
Unsurprisingly the most monsters I've ever put in a map. Never really tried slaughter combat so there's a whole lot of copy/pasted slabs of imps to carve through, with a couple of more incidental encounters to mix it up. Enemy density and open areas could put it slightly on the harder side for some. Concentrated more on visuals and light-heartedness since combat was always going to be fairly one note. Probably 15-20 minutes to UV max for a first timer since I can blaze through knowing the map off by heart.

MAP10: Impertinent Awakening
Mapper: Bagel Delivery
Midi: Marek from Heretic
Comments:
Alien Vendetta inspired level, this one will prove challenging to newbies. While its design is simpler than the other maps I've seen, keep in mind that this is my very first contribution to Doomworld. To get to the first door without jumping, strafe run to the platform from near either the backpack or plasma rifle. If this gets into the wad, please credit me as Bagel Delivery.

MAP11: Nostrimp Caverns
Mapper: Krevetkosaur3027
Midi: "Plumbford Scottsdale" by TimeOfDeath
Comments:
This map is a refference to Nostril Caverns by TimeOfDeath, but it has just 505 imps, contains only one "corridor", is 90 times shorter, is actually decorated and is a speedmap. I wanted to experiment with different styles and this map was the perfect opportunity for me to do so. It would probably fit well as one of the earlier maps, if the midi isn't too harsh on player's ears lol (I had to pick it, sorry if it makes your head hurt). The deadline didn't come in my time zone, if you are interested:3

MAP12: Virtual MetropolIMPs
Mapper: Lone2401
Midi: Parhelion - James Paddock
Comments:
A wide open city level set in a computer simulation that's hardly holding on. Fairly challenging, around medium-hard. Tested in PrBoom+ (complevel 11) and in UZdoom (MBF21 enabled). No difficulty settings, sorry.

MAP13: Impious Altar
Mapper: Moustachio
Midi: "Trouble in Sight" by Bloo
Comments:
Pretty tough map on UV. Be careful how you spend your rockets or else you'll have to fall back on the barrels placed around.

MAP14: Impel Me
Mapper: Naiad Violet
Midi: "Dark Castle Legacy" by Naiad Violet
Comments:
Strangely I was wondering when another batch of "Impping" would be coming around just days before purple_ruberoid announced openings for "Impping II". I had a blast making a map for the first session, so I was eager for round 2.. Let's just say this map is an expansion. The midi I made has a little more sugar & spice. Once again I had fun making a map for this and hope you enjoy. :)

MAP15: Il Timpano
Mapper: drjayphd
Midi: "Asphalt Olfactory" by drjayphd
Comments:
I was feeling too... orthogonal with my maps, so I built this around a circle. Then I thought of other ways to break out of my patterns by, uh, cribbing from legendary maps.

MAP16: Pumped Up IMPS
Mapper: CynicalSin
Midi: Pumped Up Kicks - Foster The People (doom soundfont by salt907 on youtube)
Comments: -

MAP17: Impenetrable Imports
Mapper: Chippi8BIT
Midi: "Derived from Unconscious Mind" by Varis Alpha
Comments:
This is the result when you sign up for a project, work on it a bit, then proceed to procrastinate until two weeks before the deadline. If you think the map feels rushed or unpolished in places, that's because it is. I hope you enjoy the map regardless. Truck textures by ACE Team and Scuba Steve (borrowed from Action Doom).

MAP18: Smashing Imps Into Small Piles Of Putrid Debris
Mapper: Razza
Midi: Martian Goat by Lpad
Comments:
Been struggling to get a map even started for another project, so I figured I'd try to make a map for something simple like this to mentally reset myself.
Simple layout, probably a little challenging on UV but ITYTD - HMP should be pretty doable. (Also "Imp" is in the title, trust me ;P.)

Midi: Aerials by System Of A Down - midi rendition //https://www.midis101.com/free-midi/9641-system-of-a-down-aerials)
Comments:
From the moment of your wake to these cultured lands, you were adamant on bringing all does who stood before you to their repose. Whilst on this self fulfilling crusade, you would hear those of a higher spiritual power talk of salvation in the bosoms of an Aerial sanctuary, and how it takes the belief and dedication of a village to accomplish.

You wager with yourself that you reducing their whole village to a mere memento was just as much of a sure fire way this place of respite as their own method.

Now you stand, tall as the marble columns that proceed you, as a dislocated orchestra begins to harmonise upon the order of the maestro signal, you figure that this requiem, was made for them.

MAP23: Barrels of Imps
Mapper: Demonic Meatball & purple_ruberoid
Midi: "See You Later American Aligator" by Demonic Meatball
Comments:
A slaughter-ish, very impy remake of Barrels o'Fun.

purple_ruberoid's note.
Implemented blue key fight + some textue alignment.

MAP24: Impping 2: Electrimp Boogaloo
Mapper: beamy_donut
Midi: "Fast" by Morey Goldstein (RIP) from "Strife (1996)"
Comments:
Got back into mapping a bit and here is my first piece! Not bad for a start honestly. I played around with the metal/flesh/marble idea again and did some enviornmental stuff (easter eggs included!). Loved fucking around with the entire times two gimmick: 2000 enemies, 20 items (10 on UV and Nightmare) and 2 secrets! Happy impping 2 U!

MAP25: Scrimp 'n' Save
Mapper: ShadowyMV
Midi: Angel Halo BGM - Track 05 by Nobusuke Sasahara
Comments:
I went a little silly for this particular map which when taken in the context of in-map cues can be summed up as "Doomguy goes downtown and forcefeeds many imps copious amounts of hotdogs while desperately looking for Impping Merch to the detriment of local businesses". Inspired by levels like Shop-n-Bag and Duke Burger from Duke 3D, this level gave me the chance craft a lot of custom textures and fill the map with references. Still runs a little longer than i'd like given the size of the level but I really had to cram the imps in this time to balance out non-imp monster placement. Follow the task list to find your beloved launcher early on but be careful, the crowds downtown can be murder.

MAP26: Impostor
Mapper: novaseer
Midi: Subterfuge by novaseer (not bespoke if you're tracking that kinda thing)
Comments:
Mostly pretty chill because I'm turbo generous with health, but the secret fight and some of the later mainline encounters might be a bit tricky. Had to fight my archvile-spamming urges pretty hard and there's still 14 of them. There's at least 2 different ways into the secret fight, more if you count AVJs. Secret fight uses a UMAPINFO boss action, so make sure to copy the listed UMAPINFO. Don't mind the generic slaughtermap aesthetic, and don't press TAB.

MAP27: Marble imperspective
Mapper: purple_ruberoid
Midi: Blackout by saneway (midibreaker 3)
Comments:
Bricks! Bricks should be aligned!
A nonlinear map with a lot of non-orthogonal lines. Lots of voodoo-doll trickery.
Some encounters are easy but most of them are medium or even above by difficulty.
The final fight should've probably been more interesting but I didn't have time to make it better :( and I didn't want to stretch a map longer/bigger.
Took it more time than should. It even seems to me I spent more time reviewing other submissions than mapping. I had fun however!

MAP28: Impressive, Very Nice
Mapper: Aylimta
Midi: Blood Rush by Tristan Clark
Comments:
Going into this, I didn't expect reaching 99% imps would be the most challenging part of this, but it somehow was! I kept wanting to put in other demons to make things more interesting and challenging, and yet for each revenant or archie I added, I needed to squeeze in 99 imps to make up for it in rooms which really didn't fit them. Ultimately I just conceded and cut down the variety, but I think I still maintained the balance quite well.

My main goal going in was to just make a map that I would find somewhat challenging. I'd like to say that I'm somewhat decent at the game, but I realise I have a lot of help by knowing everything in the map. I made it, after all :3

I honestly didn't have much planned going into this, with the exception of the very first room. The rest of the map just developed itself in my head while I was building it. There's definitely parts I'm less proud of, but I think I'm fairly happy with what I've managed to achieve here.

MAP29: Demolimption
Mapper: Barox395
Midi: "Gold Rush" by Stuart Rynn (stewboy)
Comments:
A blue and green, heavily abstract (with some weird doomcute) sci-fi world flooded with tons of barrels and gimmicky macro slaughter galore. One room probably makes it pretty clear, but Sunder and a bit of Sunlust was an inspiration for some of the visuals. I've tried upping my game in the visual department for this one and I hope it shows. Difficulty settings and coop are fully implemented.

MAP30: Prophecy of the Imperilled Mind
Mapper: ShadowyMV
Midi: Ethnic Fantastic by James "Jimmy" Paddock
Comments:
This map was concocted primarly as a way to absolve myself somewhat from the long-winded and time consuming map submissions from the first Impping project, as such I made it quickly, made it short and focused around a single combat encounter. I also threw in a little impping 1 reference last minute right before submission.

MAP31: Imperial Marble Pillars
Mapper: FlamingoGazzoline
Midi: FloppyDDR by FlamingoGazzoline
Comments:
The custom textures are packaged in the wad file and made by me. I'm learning how to paint textures atm and I used this as a decent excuse. Note that there are big differences between UV and HMP.

MAP32: An Impetus of Impact
Mapper: alexsa2015sa
Midi: Countdown to Death (D_COUNTD from Doom2)
Comments:
Actual par time should probably be shorter, because I chicken out of every fast but risky choice, and even waste a minute punching because I kept running out of secret fight which meant catching strays for couple more minutes as they all teleport out and rocketing one imp at a time is stupidly very stupid. Difficulties implemented... Ammo should be enough for cautious play, but punching leftover imps is probably inevitable in some cases.

MAP36: Imp meter

Comments:
Yeah, a very silly secret map.
I think having that easy (and hopefully fun) map in the end should be a nice touch after all impping carnage maps.
