The Registry is a database of nearly all the settings for windows and your installed applications. Some changes can be made within the Registry to make windows run smoother and to activate some hidden and useful functions or to improve existing functions. The Registry Editor (regedit.exe) is included with Windows to enable you to view and edit the contents of the Registry.

Warning: Note that you must be careful when editing the registry because changing wrong settings  may cause problems in your entire Windows system. So take care not
to edit the Registry without knowing what you are doing. It is always recommended to
back up the Registry before before making any changes in it.
