For the THiRD time in history, we are here to announce a very fast growing computerevent, TI DROME ! If you feel like having a fun weekend with about 100 computer dudes, as well PC as Amiga dudes, and you can take a computer with you for a weekend long, this is the place to be ! The idea behind the event is to have a fun weekend with fellow computerdudes, to play lotsa network games, varied with watching movies and demos on a very big screen, and meeting new friends with the same interests as yourself. You don't need to be a 'computerfreak' to have fun out here, if you know how to play games, you basically know enough of computers ;). For technical issues as hooking your system onto the Party Network, we have several Network Managers walking around the place that are willing to help you. The idea for this event started out last year, at the school we are studying at, the MTS at Hengelo, division 'Technische Informatica'. Some people there thought about having a place where they could spend a weekend at, with computers, playing network games (which was almost impossible to do at skool, with no free to use computers for students). So we rented a location in the same city, and went there with about 15 people from our school. The thing was a great success, and it was decided this should be a returning event. TI Drome was born. The second party, half a year later, was even a bigger success, having 50 people, still a lot from school but also a lot not from the MTS, that heard about the first party through people that have been there. And now, again half a year later, we expanded the organisation a bit (from 3 to 6 people), and we're ready to make TI Drome 3 a even more blasting event then the former two parties ! TI DROME 3 will open its doors at: Starting date - -> 1 NOVEMBER 1996, 18:00 hours and will last non-stop kicking and blasting 48 hours, till Ending date - -> 3 NOVEMBER 1996, 18:00 hours The doors will NOT open before 18:00, dont be early. Location: Cafe/Rest/PartyCentrum De Bron Hibbertstraat 8-10 7481 JD Haaksbergen Tel. 053-5721959 Entrance Price: Fl 30,- when booking in advance. The party will feature: * Room for at least 100 people, a maximum is about 150. It's a relative small party, but well organised and offering some nice extras. * An Ethernet Party Network, based on Novel Netware, featuring: - 3 partyservers, interlinked at 100 Mbit to ensure speed, - a total of over 3 GB harddisk space, filled with interesting software, and open to be filled by the visitors. - Part of the network offers possibillity to hook up using UTP (full=full), instead of coax. (*) - The whole network will be lying ready for usage, no need to bring your own coax cabling. If you have a LanCard with UTP option, you've to bring the UTP cable with you. - If you don't have a LanCard in your PC, you can rent one for FL 15,- from us, or buy one for FL 50,-. If you don't have experience on installing LanCards, the Network Managers are always willing to assist. * There exists an Amiga Network Package, allowing 32 systems in one network, linked at Disk-connector, based on coax. This is an old package, at this point we are trying to get our hands on it, but at the time of this being released, we dont know whether it will be there. If we succeed, you can expect almost unique amiga networking, in multiple nets. We do also have parnet and twin software available at the organisation table. * A live band, bringing kindda ambient/prodigy styled music. (*) * If there's enough interest, a 'freestyle' compo, accepting graphix, music, and whatever more, that people think is able to compete. * A seperated 'Internet Cafe', offering free internet access, featuring: - 1 or 2 systems for browsing Websites, doing FTP, etc. - 3 systems for IRC Chatting. - IRC Chatting routed through through the main party network, so that everyone can IRC at their OWN system. - All running at a the amazingly high speed offered by a ISDN line, sponsored by PTT Telecom. (*) * The partylocation is in the centre of Haaksbergen, so everything is close (Banks, Cafetaria, Disco, etc) * Game-competetions, featuring: - Duke Nukem 3D - Command & Conquer / Warcraft II - Some more surprise compo's * A Big Screen, Aprx. 4 by 2 meters big, - Movies (also some Manga), - Displaying of PC and Amiga demo's, new ones and good oldies. - a 24h nonstop information display with uptodate info, when the screen doesnt run a movie or demo or something else. * A Sony Playstation, free playing, with some major PS titles. For those who never played on a PS, it's a VERY good gameconsole. * Very powerfull sound equipment, you don't have to be affraid for 24h loud music though... * Fast Food and not so fast food for sale at the partyplace. * Lots of phun :) (*) = Not yet 100% sure.
