Lexmark printer colon file packages for IBM RISC System/6000 computers

Printers included: Optra, Optra+, Optra C, Optra E, Optra Ep, Optra E+, Optra N,
Optra S, Optra SC, 4079 Plus, 2380 Plus, 2381 Plus, 2390 Plus, 2391 Plus, 
and 4227.

Package Name: colon_files.aix4x.tar

This file contains instructions on how to install the Lexmark printer
colon file packages for AIX 4.x systems. Please note that these files
meet the naming conventions currently on AIX 4.2 systems. If you are
installing on previous 4.x systems you may encounter previous versions
of these files by other names (e.g. LM2380-3.asc instead of lex2380-3.asc).
To avoid confusion you should remove the older versions.


You must be logged in as root.

1. The tar file should be downloaded to the system you wish to install
on. A "tmp" directory or in a "home" account is recommended. Please,
remember to transfer in binary mode.

2. Untar the file in this directory via:

	tar -xvf colon_files.aix4x.tar

3. Run the install script:

	install_pkg.4x

The script will install the colon files in the "/usr/lib/lpd/pio/predef"
directory and the message catalog file, lexmark.cat, in the 
"/usr/lib/lpd/pio/etc" directory. It will prompt for each printer and the
catalog file, first to see if installing it is desired and then again if
the file already exists to see if over-writing is desired.

The readme files for the printers, README.aix4x.<model-name>,  will be
left in the directory where the package is untar'd.
