HOW TO USE: 
1. Install the following RPMs in the following order using the directions 
provided below:

     A. alsa-driver-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.4.i386.rpm
     B. alsa-utils-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.1.i386.rpm
     C. alsa-lib-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.1.i386.rpm
     D. alsa-oss-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.1.i386.rpm

2.. Download and unpack the TAR & GZIPPED archive by using 'tar -xvzf 
alsa-driver-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.4.i386.tgz.

3.. Install the binary rpm, alsa-driver-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.4.i386.rpm using the 
RedHat Package Manger. To do this, with root privilages, type at a console 
prompt:

'rpm -qva | grep hpalsa' to find out if you already have a version of the 
hpalsa driver installed. If you do, use:

'rpm -U alsa-driver-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.4.i386.rpm'

otherwise use:

'rpm -ivh alsa-driver-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.4.i386.rpm'

4. install the alsa-utils-0.9.8-2.4.7_10.1.i386.rpm next.

5. Do not reboot until you have installed all components in the order listed in 
section 1.
