DESCRIPTION:
This package creates files that contain a binary image for the System BIOS (ROM) for the listed notebook models with a 68DTV Family ROM. This package is used to flash the System ROM on target notebooks in a network. It requires System Software Manager (SSM). NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the targetnotebook during startup to run the Setup Utility, and then viewFile/System Information.

ENHANCEMENTS:
- Adds a setting in the F10 Setup utility to enable or disable DMA transfer
mode for the hard drive. Once DMA mode is disabled, the notebook boots
using PIO mode.
- Changes the description of the "SD slot" in the F10 Setup utility to
"Flash media reader."
- Provides an updated video BIOS.

FIXES:

- Fixes intermittent issue where the integrated NIC is not listed in the
Device Manager after resuming from Hibernation mode.

HOW TO USE:

NOTE: To flash the System BIOS on a target notebook in a network, the System
BIOS image must be used with remote management software, such as SSM.

1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. When used with SSM, copy the SoftPaq to the file store.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS
PROCEDURE!
