Power Conservation Features

The monitor is Energy Star-compliant and, when connected to an Energy Star computer, are capable of operating in two power-conservation modes as well as normal mode. The power-conservation modes are suspend mode, which is the first stage, and sleep mode, which is the maximum energy saver mode.

In suspend mode, when the Energy Star computer's keyboard or mouse is unused for a specified period of time (preset by the user), the computer sends a request to the monitor for the monitor to operate in the suspend mode. The monitor switches to the suspend mode, blanks the screen, and shuts off certain sections of its electronics to conserve power.

In sleep mode, after a longer period of mouse/keyboard inactivity (also preset by the user), the Energy Star computer sends a request to the monitor for the monitor to operate in the sleep mode. The monitor switches to the sleep mode, blanks the screen, and shuts down more of its electronics to provide even greater power savings.

Note:
The "+" and "-" indicators are the polarities of the vertical and horizontal sync signals coming from the PC video controller. The monitor's video recognition circuits utilize the sync polarities to determine which preset mode to display.
