Special Online Guest: Howie Hunger Writing or marketing an OS/2 application? or just thinking about it? Here's an opportunity you shouldn't miss. From January 16-18, the OS/2 Vendor Forum on CompuServe (GO OS2AVEN) will host IBM's Howie Hunger, the director of the Solution Developer's Organization. Howie is the guy in charge of working with vendors of OS/2 applications -- marketing applications, creating them, promoting them, and so on. During these three days, Howie will participate in online discussions with OS/2 software vendors (or developers who are thinking about writing OS/2 applications) in in OS2AVEN's Section 20, "Marketing OS/2 Applications." This is expected to be a lively, animated discussion with a lot of interaction about the real-world challenges of writing good OS/2 applications and marketing it effectively. Won't you join us? OS2AVEN's section on Marketing OS/2 Applications is a study group for OS/2 vendors and other people interested in marketing OS/2 Applications. Esther Schindler, senior contributing edior of OS/2 Magazine, will be moderator of a discussion focusing on Geoffrey Moore's "Crossing The Chasm: Marketing and Selling High-Tech Products to Mainstream Customers," published by HarperBusiness, a division of Harper Collins, ISBN 0-87730-717-5. Members of the study group are reading a book together. The basic plan is to read a chapter a week, and discuss each chapter on the forum. "Discuss" implies that members talk about what (if anything) they learned from this week's chapter, how they believe they can apply it, and whereever the discussion leads. The OS/2 Vendor Forums on CompuServe (GO OS2AVEN, OS2BVEN) are operated by Software Architects, Inc., Mountain View, CA. More than 60 vendors support their OS/2 products on these forums. Email Guy Scharf at 76702.557@compuserve.com for more information about the forums. Email Esther Schindler at 72241.1417@compuserve.com for more information about the study group.
