The Unite Image Viewer Object provides the capability of viewing
and manipulating bitonal, grayscale, and color scanned documents
and faxes.  The Unite Image Viewer Object was developed using
IBM's state-of-the-art System Object Model (SOM) technology.

EASY TO USE

From the VX-REXX novice to the C/C++ programmer, the Unite Image
Viewer Object's powerful functionality is easily accessible. 
The Unite Image Viewer Object can be integrated into development
environments such as Watcom's VX-REXX,  IBM's VisualAge, and
coming soon, OpenDoc. Once the object is integrated, its
functionality can be implemented using drag-and-drop technology.
 Fully functional 32-bit APIs are also available.  Use the Unite
Image Viewer Object to develop the imaging application which
solves your paper- and fax-based business problem.

FLEXIBLE INPUT/OUTPUT FORMATS

Many file formats are supported including BMP, GIF, TGA, TIFF,
JPEG, and PPM. OS/2 system clipboard cut and paste is supported
which makes transferring data between your OS/2 and Windows
programs a snap.

INTEGRATES EASILY

The Unite Image Viewer Object can be integrated with a number of
other Unite objects and products including:  Unite Scanner
Object, Unite Storager, and Unite CDbMaker.  Mix and match any
combination of Unite objects and products to configure the
system that meets your organization's needs.

CONVENTIONAL, COMPREHENSIVE METHODS

The Unite Image Viewer Object includes a fully functional,
DDE-enabled executable file which creates a Unite Image Viewer
Object window.  By clicking the right mouse button in this
window, a pop-up menu of available methods is presented to the
user.  

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

- Sticky notes can be added to documents.
- The icon which represents your document can appear as a
  thumbnail image of the document.
- A portion of the document can be extracted to create a whole
  new document.
- Color images are easily converted to grayscale.
- Configure and save Image Viewer window preferences by userID.
