HOCKWARE FILLS OS/2 MARKET GAP WITH VISPRO/REPORTS
                                      
VisPro/Reports is the first programmable, REXX-enabled, 32-bit report writer for OS/2 Warp

     CARY, N.C., February 28, 1995 -- Answering the call for a 32-bit programmable report writer for OS/2, 
HockWare, Incorporated today announced the availability of VisPro/ReportsE.  VisPro/Reports is an easy-to-use, 
object-oriented, programmable report writer for OS/2 that allows the printing of invoices, form letters, personnel 
reports, financial reports and more from any REXX program. With VisPro/Reports, programmers can easily customize 
and print new or existing applications written with VisPro/REXX, VX REXX, GPF REXX or plain OS/2 REXX. A 
large selection of Avery  labels are supported for printing address and other labels. Reports can be printed from C, 
C++, Smalltalk and other languages by launching REXX macros from a program. 

     The report printing engine in VisPro/Reports is actually an extension of the powerful REXX language. So 
programmers seamlessly leverage all the features of REXX when programming their reports. This includes access to 
IBM's DB2, EHLLAPI, APPC and other REXX-enabled environments. Using the vast array of available third party 
REXX libraries, programmers can access data in dBase .DBF files and can calculate data using scientific and math-
ematical function libraries.

     Modeled after VisPro/REXX, VisPro/C and VisPro/C++, VisPro/Reports is fully integrated with the Work-
place Shell. This includes the drag and drop feature pioneered by HockWare in VisPro/REXX, as well as object 
settings notebooks, pop-up menus and direct-editing. A rich selection of objects, including field, bitmap image, busi-
ness graphics, multi-line text, line, rectangle, rounded rectangle and ellipse, allow the creation of reports in a way that 
was never before possible with OS/2. VisPro/Reports includes numerous object attributes, including 16 million colors, 
OS/2 ATM fonts, line styles, line widths, fill patterns, drop shadows and more.

 CUA'91 style report layout view includes tool bar, grid option, rulers and clipboard support.  

 Free-format report drawing facility gives complete flexibility on report object placement, color, font, etc. Program-
 mers are not limited to placing data in simple rows or columns.

 Support for banded reports includes group level breaks, calculated fields, column functions, report headers, report 
 footers, page headers and page footers.

 Support for labels includes address labels, disk labels and any other Avery laser label.

 Objects include field object for storing REXX variables and providing math operations in columns of data; bitmap 
 object for logos and other images; business graphics object, including 3D business graphics; plain text or multi-line 
 text object; line object with various styles and widths; cosmetic objects, including rectangle, rounded rectangle, and 
 ellipse.

 Numerous object attributes, including 16 million colors, OS/2 ATM fonts, line styles, line widths, fill patterns, drop 
 shadows and more. 

 Full zooming capabilities as well as an Overview window help users zoom and scroll to easily navigate within the 
 report.

 Access to data from DB2/2, third-party REXX libraries, .DBF and other database access, Lotus Notes, 
 Math/Scientific libraries, Files data access and EHLLAPI mainframe connections.
