Subject: OS/2 WARP install problem on ZEOS Pantera Pentium 90 MH. Problems with the installation of WARP were solved by a simple change in the hard disk definition in the CMOS. My new ZEOS has a 1 gigabyte Seagate IDE hard disk. The IDE controller is built into the motherboard. The disk is segmented with a 1 MB dual boot partition, an 80 MB DOS partition (for Windows 3.1 and DOS) (drive C:), a 300 MB HPFS partition (drive D:) and a 700 MB HPFS partition (drive E:). There is also a Mitsumi CD-ROM drive which also runs off of the IDE controller. (OS/2 2.1 could not find the Mitsumi but WARP found it nicely. Problems came during installation of WARP. There were a random series of error messages, and the IBM help people could contribute nothing in the way of assistance. Fate intervened when I inadvertently wiped out the CMOS and had to re-define the setup. The hard disk set up has a "PRE-FETCH" option with the cautionary note to disable it if using an operating system "other than DOS". With the pre-fetch disabled, installation went smoothly, with no errors.
