The Audio Visual Connection (R) is a PS/2 (R) application enabling program providing authoring software, file management capability, and a runtime facility so that applications can communicate with users through hypertext techniques and digitized, high quality (between AM and FM level) audio and photo-like color images. A multitude of sound, display, and motion effects are provided to make this interchange eye-catching, fast-paced, and attention-holding. The AVC can be used to develop stand-alone applications or as a presentation service for other programs. Highly interactive cooperative processing is allowed, through the AVC's interface with the host expert system product, KnowledgeTool (R) 2.1.1. The AVC, in conjunction with the Audio Capture and Playback Adapters Video Capture Adapter/A and the M-Motion Video Adapter/A provides a total audio-visual solution for the application developer. The AVC runs under OS/2 (TM) EE 1.3, OS/2 SE 1.3, OS/2 2.X, or DOS 4.0 with expanded memory support. The AVC 1.05 diskette images provided via the AVCU package are an upgrade to AVC 1.04 code only, and will be equivalent to golden AVC 1.05 code. These files, by themselves, will NOT provide OS/2 XGA support. The AVC_OS2 XGA fix diskette is required and is provided as part of this package. See the README.XGA file, included on the AVC_XGA diskette, for more information. The publications have not changed in this version of AVC. All changes are documented in the README.AVC file on diskette 1. To install the AVC 1.05 upgrade to AVC 1.04, place AVC5U_B1 (diskette 1 of 2) in your A drive. At the A prompt, type INSTALL. You will then be prompted to answer some questions. For more information on installation, see chapter 2 of the AVC User's Guide. (TM) Trademark of the International Business Machines Corporation.
