These may be viewed using any standard text editor. CCLMSG.HLP contains the help for the end user messages and is provided translated into your chosen language. CCLLOG.HLP contains the help for the trace and log messages and is provided in English only. Changes For Service Maintenance Releases ======================================== This service maintenance release of the CICS Client can be obtained either by applying the relevant Corrective Service Diskette (CSD) to a previously installed product or by installing the updated product from a hard drive. To produce an updated product copy all files from the base product diskettes to a directory on a hard drive, then copy all the files from this CSD to the same directory. To install the updated product type D:\DIR\INSTALL at an OS/2 command prompt, where D:\DIR is the hard drive and directory containing the updated product. ECI Parameter Changes --------------------- Maintenance Release 01 adds a new field to the ECI parameter block. This field is called "eci_tpn" in the C language header files and "ECI-TPN" in the COBOL copybook. To make use of this new field the "eci_version" field must be set to the value ECI_VERSION_1A (or set ECI-VERSION to ECI-VERSION-1A in COBOL). The "eci_tpn" field defines the name of the CICS Server "mirror" transaction that is used to process the ECI request. If this field is set to all zero bytes or the "eci_version" field is set to a version earlier than ECI_VERSION_1A the default CICS mirror transaction, CPMI, will be used. This field should only be used if you have a specific requirement to change the CICS Server mirror transaction name (perhaps to allow special database access plans to be invoked or to provide additional security checks). If you do not have specific requirements or are uncertain of the function of this field you should leave it unused and set it to all zero bytes. Problem Fixes - Maintenance Release 01 -------------------------------------- The following provides a brief summary of the major problems fixed in this maintenance release: - Correct problems with ECI_STATE_ASYNC and ECI_STATE_CANCEL. - Correct CICSPRNT problems with 0x0A, 0x0C and 0x0D characters. - Ensure compatibility with old CICS OS/2 apps using FAAEXTERNALCALL. - Correct handling of userid and password in ECI calls when set using the CICSCLI /C option. - Ensure ECI ABEND codes are not lost when connecting to older host CICS servers. - Correct problems running on Apple PowerMac machines. Problem Fixes - Maintenance Release 02 -------------------------------------- The following provides a brief summary of the major problems fixed in this maintenance release: - Correct problems associated with using CICSTERM, CICSPRNT and EPI application programs running to mainframe CICS systems over SNA. ************************************************************************ * End of file * ************************************************************************ IMPORTANT PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
