PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
IBM LAN Distance family of products provide remote LAN access to home and
travelling users.    LAN Distance enables users working away from the
office to transparently access their LAN via public switched networks.
 
LAN Distance Remote for OS/2 and Windows provides the support for a
remote PC to dial either the Connection Server or another Remote PC
and establish a LAN session.
 
LAN Distance Remote does not require a dedicated server.  It supports
Ethernet or Token-Ring LAN access; Async, Sync, ISDN, or X.25 remote
access; and supports all major LAN applications and protocols.
 
LAN Distance Remote offers host-like security features; an easy-to-use
graphical interface that supports local or remote administration.
 
LAN Distance products are CID enabled and can be installed from a
redirected drive.
 
LAN Distance has two components:
 
LAN Distance Remote for OS/2 provides the suport for a remote PC to dial
either the Connection Server or another Remote PC and establish a LAN
session.
 
LAN Distance Connection Server for OS/2 provides security and routing
capabilities that allow remote PC's to access LAN Resources. It also
supports dialing off of the LAN for LAN to LAN or LAN to Remote
connectivity.
