SOM Toolkit/Object Builder


If you would like to create custom objects, you can use the VisPro/REXX SOM Toolkit.  It is a SOM object builder that allows you to easily integrate your own objects into the VisPro/REXX environment.  The toolkit is free to VisPro/REXX Gold and Bronze 2.x customers.  You may request it directly from HockWare through CompuServe or by calling us at 919-380-0616.  Please provide you name, address and telephone with your request. Overview: 
By using the VisPro/REXX SOM Toolkit, you are able to define behavior, styles and methods for you objects.  Your objects are packaged into individual SOM dynamic link library files.  Once completed, your objects will be completely integrated into the VisPro/REXX environment:
1--icons for your objects appear on the VisPro/REXX tool bar
2--your object will have its own Style page within its setting view
3--a help file for your object will be integrated into the VisPro/REXX help system
4--the methods for your object will appear in the drag and drop programming "Create Link" window

The toolkit includes on-line documentation, SOM object and include files, two detailed examples, an installation utility, and an object builder utility.  The object builder utility allows you to easily create your objects.  You simply fill in panels with information describing your object.  SOM, resource, C source, include and help files will be generated automatically.   You don't even have to know SOM!  Just define your object's Presentation Manager behavior and object is complete.  The SOM is structured so that the reliance on a proprietary framework is minimized and it will be very easy to re-use thes objects in future HockWare C and C++ products as well as stand-alone use for C and C++ programmers.
		

Third-Party Object Program:
HockWare has a marketing program for anyone who wants to create and sell stand-alone SOM objects for VisPro/REXX.  We will provide marketing support for third-party objects such as: cooperative press announcement, cooperative advertising, placing a marketing flyer/catalog for objects into all VisPro/REXX boxes and  mailing flyer/catalog to current customers.  We will also provide technical support during the development of your object.
