Notation: shift+key Indicates that you should hold down the key(s) indicated by "shift" (Shift, Alt, Ctrl or a combination of these) and press the "key" key. Then release the "key" and, unless the next function requires the same shift keys, release the "shift" keys. shift+key (2.0) Indicates this key combination works only in OS/2 version 2.0 shift+key (2.x) Indicates this key combination works in OS/2 versions 2.0+ and 2.1+ shift+key (Warp) Indicates this key combination works only in OS/2 Warp version 3 Startup Tasks: Use these keys after starting up or rebooting the system. Alt+F1 (2.x) Restore default desktop - Press Alt+F1 once after the initial beep but before the OS/2 logo appears Alt+F1 (Warp) Display recovery options - Press Alt+F1 once after "yyy OS/2" appears in the upper left corner of the screen Alt+F2 (Warp) Display drivers as they are being loaded Ctrl+Shift+F1 Inhibit auto-start features - Hold down Ctrl+Shift+F1 after the mouse pointer has changed to an arrow. - If disk activity stops before the OS/2 desktop appears, release only the F1 key and immediately hold it down again. It can also be used to avoid a SYS1799 error when attempting to run multiple copies of a DOS application which uses a dongle (hardware security key) on the parallel port.
