OSBPIAKR - REMOVAL AND REINSTALLATION OF INTERNET ACCESS KIT AND TCP/IP - OS/2 WARP 01/16/96 ======================================================================= Removal and Reinstallation of Internet Access Kit and TCP/IP--OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION This document describes how to remove and reinstall the Internet Access Kit and TCP/IP. RESOLUTION Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change. Any information that you want to save must be copied to diskette or to another directory before you perform the following procedure. 1. At a command prompt, type E CONFIG.SYS and press Enter to edit the CONFIG.SYS file. 2. Remove all references to TCPIP from the following statements: LIBPATH SET PATH SET HELP SET BOOKSHELF Nine lines near the end of the file 3. Save and exit the file. 4. Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and remove all references to TCPIP from PATH and a line near the end of the file (unless you have performed reinstallation more than once). 5. Save and exit the file. 6. Open the IBM Information Superhighway folder and drag the Internet Connection for OS/2 folder to the Shredder to delete it. When prompted to reverify the delete choice, select Yes to all. 7. Shut down and then restart the system. 8. Open OS/2 System. 9. Select the Drives icon. 10. Select the drive that contains the TCPIP directory. 11. Find the TCPIP folder and drag it to the Shredder. When prompted to reverify the delete choice, select Yes to all until the folder is deleted. The Internet Access Kit and TCP/IP are now deleted from the system. 12. Reinstall the Internet Access Kit and TCP/IP from the BonusPak using the BonusPak Installation Utility program. Select INTERNET - IBM Internet Connection for OS/2 from the BonusPak Installation Utility menu.
