OSBPRSUP - ERROR 10061 WHEN OPENING RETRIEVE SOFTWARE UPDATES PROGRAM 02/07/96 ======================================================================= Error 10061 when Opening Retrieve Software Updates Program--OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION When connected to an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and opening the Retrieve Software Updates utility program, the following message is received: Unable to connect to "....", errno = 10061. RESOLUTION The problem occurs because of a server reconfiguration at Advantis. 1. Point at the Retrieve Software Updates icon and click mouse button 2 to display the pop-up menu. 2. Click on Settings to open the Settings notebook. 3. In the Path and file name field, type LINKUP.EXE. 4. In the Parameters field, type: UPDATE.EXE /h ftp01.ny.us.ibm.net 5. Leave the Working directory field blank. 6. Close the Settings notebook. If you still get this error after making the changes, the server might be down; try again later.
