OSDABALR - BALER XE VERSION 2.0E PROBLEMS IN OS/2 2.1 AND OS/2 2.11 02/06/96 ======================================================================= Baler XE Version 2.0E Problems in OS/2 2.1 and OS/2 2.11 ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Baler XE Version 2.0E, by Baler Software Corporation, does not run correctly under OS/2 2.1 or OS/2 2.11. RESOLUTION 1. Install Baler in a Windows or DOS Full Screen session. 2. Create a program icon for Baler (see the OS/2 documentation). 3. Set the DOS Session settings as follows: XMS_MEMORY_LIMIT to 0 DPMI_MEMORY_LIMIT to 0 MOUSE_EXCLUSIVE_ACCESS to ON EMS_MEMORY_LIMIT to 32 MB 4. Set up a 200 KB RAM disk with the OS/2 RAMDISK, VMDISK.SYS. If this is not set, Baler uses the current directory to implement virtual memory. The Baler virtual-memory-path environment variable (VMPATH) generally points to a partition where data could be damaged and cause unrecoverable data errors. 5. Set VMPATH and implement virtual memory. 6. Set the VMPATH and TMP environment variables to point to the RAM disk. 7. Set the environment variables and run the program from a batch file. See Appendix E of the Baler User's Guide for additional information. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
