OSDAJNKG - PROBLEMS WITH JACK NICKLAUS UNLIMITED GOLF VERSION 1.2 IN OS/2 2.1 01/02/96 ======================================================================= Problems with Jack Nicklaus Unlimited Golf Version 1.2 in OS/2 2.1 ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Jack Nicklaus Unlimited Golf by Accolade runs very slowly or locks up under OS/2 2.1. The game plays correctly until the ball lands in the cup on the first hole. The system then locks up, with no error message, and has to be restarted. RESOLUTION Upgrade to Version 1.5 of the program: 1. Start a DOS Full Screen session. 2. Open the Settings notebook for the program and set the DOS session settings as follows: DOS_BACKGROUND_EXECUTION = ON DISABLE UNUSED_MEMORY_RESOURCES IE *_MEMORY_LIMIT = 0 HW_ROM_TO_RAM = ON HW_TIMER = OFF IDLE_SECONDS = 60 IDLE_SENSITIVITY = 100 VIDEO_SWITCH_NOTIFICATION = ON DOS_HIGH = ON INT_DURING_IO = ON VIDEO_RETRACE_EMULATION = OFF VIDEO_8514_XGA_IOTRAP = OFF This stops the lockup problem. If the game is still unacceptably slow, consider upgrading to Version 1.6, which runs fine in a default DOS session. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
