OSDIADSC - FDISK PROBLEMS WITH THE ADAPTEC 152X CONTROLLER CARD 09/20/96 ======================================================================= FDISK Problems with the Adaptec 152x Controller Card ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION After attaching a new hard drive to an Adaptec 152x controller card, FDISK in OS/2 recognizes the drive but does not display any options. No partitions can be created. RESOLUTION Any SCSI hard drive attached to an Adaptec 152x controller card must first have partitions created using the AFDISK utility on the first EZ-SCSI Utility Diskette which comes with the controller. 1. Insert the first EZ-SCSI Utility Diskette into drive A:. Shut down and restart the system. 2. Follow the instructions on screen to run AFDISK to set the partitions on the new drive. You can also run the AFDISK utility on the first EZ-SCSI Utility Diskette by restarting the system to MS or PC DOS. From the DOS command prompt, change to the A: drive and type SETUP. Press Enter, then follow the instructions on screen.
