OSDICFPY - UNABLE TO ACCESS DISKETTE DRIVE IN OS/2 WARP 12/15/95 ======================================================================= Unable to Access Diskette Drive in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Cannot access the diskette drive after installing OS/2 Warp 3.0. The problem did not occur when OS/2 2.X was installed on the system. RESOLUTION Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change. The OS/2 Warp Installation program adds both the OEM and PS/2 diskette-drive device drivers to the CONFIG.SYS file of some systems. Remark-out (REM) the unneeded device driver in the CONFIG.SYS file, as follows: 1. At an OS/2 command prompt, type E CONFIG.SYS and press Enter to edit the CONFIG.SYS file. 2. Make the following changes: * For IBM PS/2 Micro Channel systems: Change: BASEDEV=IBM1FLPY.ADD To: REM BASEDEV=IBM1FLPY.ADD * For other systems: Change: BASEDEV=IBM2FLPY.ADD To: REM BASEDEV=IBM2FLPY.ADD 3.
