        Problems Accessing Diskette or Tape Drive with OS/2 2.1

DESCRIPTION

In OS/2 2.1, with Multimedia Presentation Manager/2 (MMPM/2) installed, 
Easytape software and Irwin tape drives cannot be accessed correctly. 
There also might be problems accessing diskette drives or tape drives 
that are connected to a diskette-drive controller.

RESOLUTION

Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change.

1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and remark-out (REM) all references to the
   MMPM/2 drivers.

2. Save and exit the file.

3. Shut down and then restart the system.

Note: MMPM/2 will not work correctly, if at all, after this change, but
      you will be able to access the drive units and software.
