DESCRIPTION

When an Adaptec 1542CP PnP (Plug and Play) ISA SCSI adapter with an 
incorporated diskette controller is plugged into an ISA machine with a 
diskette controller on the planar, the PnP configuration logic cannot 
detect whether the diskette drive is attached to the SCSI adapter or 
directly to the planar. 

Currently this logic assigns the diskette resources to the SCSI 
controller. If the diskette drive is attached to the controller on the 
planar, the machine will have NO diskette drive available. For this 
reason, the diskette drive must be physically attached to the 
controller on the SCSI adapter (PnP card) to be recognized.


RESOLUTION

PnP ISA adapters which include diskette controllers are not supported 
at this time.
