                    Remote Installation of FixPaks

DESCRIPTION

OS/2 Warp Connect has a built-in feature that allows you to do a Remote 
Installation of OS/2 Warp Connect. The same diskettes can be used to 
install FixPaks remotely. 

RESOLUTION

After building the remote diskettes by clicking on the OS/2 Warp Remote 
Installation icon, the following changes must be made to the CONFIG.SYS 
file on Diskette 1.

  rem Protshell=sysinst1.exe
  Protshell=z:\fixpak\fservice.exe
 
  rem Set os2_shell=z:\coninst.exe
  Set os2_shell=z:\fixpak\fservice.exe /r:a:\response.fil
  /ll:c:\service.log


You must also copy the RESPONSE.FIL to Diskette 1 of the remote 
installation and edit the following:
 
  Change:  :source a:\
  To:      *:source a:\

You can now install the FixPak to a remote system of your choice.
