OSDIVFAT - INSTALLING OS/2 WARP OVER EXISTING WINDOWS 95 WITH SERVICE PACK 2 AND VFAT32 PARTITION 11/11/96 ======================================================================= Installing OS/2 Warp over Existing Windows 95 with Service Pack 2 and VFAT32 Partition ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION Can OS/2 Warp be installed over a Windows 95 VFAT32 partition? RESOLUTION The VFAT32 partition is a new and enhanced directory structure for Windows 95, available to Windows 95 users with Service Pack 2 installed. DOS, Windows 3.1, and versions of Windows 95 running just VFAT cannot use or recognize the VFAT32 partition, and neither can OS/2. If you want to install OS/2 Warp on top of the Windows 95 VFAT32 partition, either as a replacement operating system or in a dual boot environment, you will have to format and perhaps even FDISK the partition before OS/2 Warp can use it. warp4 ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
