           System Locks Up Accessing Diskette Drive on WinBook Laptop

DESCRIPTION


A WinBook laptop computer locks up when accessing the diskette drive. 
The DIR command displays the correct information, but then the system 
locks up.

RESOLUTION

1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file, by typing E CONFIG.SYS at an OS/2 command 
   prompt.

2. REMark out the Advanced Power Management statements; as follows:

   REM DEVICE=C:\OS2\BOOT\APM.SYS
   REM DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VAPM.SYS

3. Save and exit the file, then shutdown and restart the system.
