Temporary solutions or information for the problems are provided. This list is not intended to be all-inclusive. The problems described here are OS/2 Warp problems specific to these hardware products. If you do not find your problem listed here, continue searching the databases for documents related to the symptoms you are experiencing. RESOLUTION Note: To contact the IBM PC BBS, call 919-517-0001. 9576/77 Systems --------------- H013861 ------- The display screen is flashing or exhibiting a "checkerboard" pattern, usually in yellow, but it might occur in other colors. This is caused by one of the following: * Internal Processing Error (IPE) * Trap Error Message * Kernel panic error The error Message displayed is: The System is stopped. Review the hardware configuration and remove any IRQ or DMA conflict. If no conflict exists and the problem continues, contact the IBM PC Company Help Center (1-800-772-2227) for a driver to fix the problem. 6875/85 Systems --------------- H126728 ------- The IBM PC 700 series, 6875, and 6885 might exhibit the following symptoms: * TRAP0002. * System locks up while loading OS/2 2.x, OS/2 Warp from a CID (Configuration, Installation, and Distribution) installation. * System locks up when running OS/2 after a warm restart (Ctrl+Alt+Del). Install Flash BIOS update 62A or higher. The current update is N1JT62A.DSK and can be downloaded from the IBM PC BBS. H126730 ------- The IBM PC 700 series, 6875, and 6885 might have one or more of the following: * Intermittent system lockups * TRAP0002 If the affected single in-line memory modules (SIMMs) are from Hyundai, replace them with FRU P/N73G3233 (4 MB) or P/N92G7521 (8 MB). If the affected SIMMs are not Hyundai SIMMs, continue normal problem determination to isolate the failing application or FRU. H126344 ------- If the cache modules in locations U31, U32, and U34 are IDT brand cache (the IDT logo is on the module), replace the modules in those locations with FRU P/N06H6052. H126458 ------- The documentation states that the 3995-A23 optical library requires OS/2 2/1 or higher. However, Model A23 does not operate with OS/2 Warp 3.0. H126795 ------- When running MS Mail or ADSM (ADSTAR Distributed Storage Manager) under OS/2, PCSERVER 300 (8640 Models xNx or xPx) might experience one of the following: * Intermittent TRAP0002 * System lockup while formatting the hard disk A new PCI SCSI device driver for OS/2 can be downloaded from the IBM PC BBS. The file is IBMPSCSI.ADD, dated 02-23-95, and its size is 49,531 bytes. H126799 ------- IBM PC 300/700 series systems, 6575, 6585, 6875, 6885, and PS/ValuePoint Performance Series Systems 64xx might have one of the following symptoms: * System locks up with an oversized blinking cursor in the upper-left corner of the screen. * Video synchronization is lost (distorted video) when trying to load the OS/2 Presentation Manager A new version of the SVGA.EXE device driver is available for downloading from the IBM PC BBS.
