OSIN0107 - XI00107 MPTS INSTALLATION ERROR 06/13/96 ======================================================================= XI00107 MPTS Installation Error ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedure ------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION When installing Multi-Protocol Transport Services (MPTS), you encounter the following error when attempting to install OS/2 Warp Connect requesters. XI00107: ERROR While attempting to copy the file "D:\CID\IMG\LAPS\MPTN\ETC\ETC.ZIP". RESOLUTION From an OS/2 Window or Full-Screen session, type the following and press Enter. [C:\]help xi00107 The following explanation appears: XI00107: Error while attempting to copy the file "***". CAUSE: MPTS encountered an error while trying to copy a file. MPTS must copy a number of files as part of its operations. MPTS can fail to copy a file because the source file doesn't exist or because the replacement file is currently in use by the system and cannot be replaced. ACTION: Make sure the source file exists. If the source file is part of the MPTS "packed" diskette image, obtain a new copy of the MPTS Diskettes and retry the operation. If the target file already exists on the system, verify that the operation is a reinstallation and the file IBMLVL.INI exists in the root of the drive where MPTS is already installed. If the file does not exist, then MPTS must be manually removed from the system and then reinstalled. If previous attempts to install OS/2 Warp Connect's MPTS component leave an incomplete installation of OS/2 Warp Connect portions, then launching MPTS from the CD-ROM will give you an option to remove MPTS. You can then follow the removal instructions for TCP/IP and NetWare Requester according to the corresponding README files. OS/2 Warp Connect can then be reinstalled according to the installation sequence in the Redbook, OS/2 Warp Generation, Volume 2: Exploring LAN Connectivity With OS/2 Warp Connect (GG24-4505), page 81. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
