        SYS0318 During the First Phase of Installation

DESCRIPTION

During the first phase of installation, the following error message 
occurs:

SYS0318, Cannot find OSO001.MSG for message 3175.

RESOLUTION

1. Use a text editor to edit the CONFIG.SYS file on the OS/2 Warp 4
   Installation Diskette 1. Change the following line, 
   from:

     PROTSHELL=SYSINST1.EXE

   to:

     PROTSHELL=CMD.EXE

2. Restart the system using the OS/2 Warp 4 Installation Diskette; 
   substitute the modified Diskette 1 when prompted for Diskette 1,
   then insert the original Diskette 2 when prompted.

3. When the system takes you to an OS/2 command prompt, type:

    SYSINST2, then press Enter.

4. The Easy/Advanced Installation screen appears; continue with the
   installation.
