       Creating Primary Partitions Using the Adaptec 1520 Family

DESCRIPTION

You create a primary partition on a second SCSI hard drive using the 
AHA152X.ADD driver. FDISK creates the partition, but when the system is 
restarted, you receive the following error when the driver tries to 
load:

 "OS/2 is unable to operate hard drive or diskette drive" 

RESOLUTION

This is a hardware limitation for the Adaptec 1520 family controller 
card. The BIOS for the card can support only one hard drive. Subsequent 
hard drives must contain extended partitions only. Adaptec's technical 
support has confirmed this.
