OSINALT1 - USING ALT+F1 ON A SYSTEM WITH OS/2 WARP PRE-INSTALLED 01/18/96 ======================================================================= Using Alt+F1 on a System with OS/2 Warp Pre-Installed ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION If you press Alt+F1 to select the maintenance partition (M) on a system with OS/2 Warp pre-installed, some information in the \OS2\BOOT\CONFIG.M file might be incorrect. If the information IS incorrect, the Installation program might stop with an error stating the SOURCEPATH is incorrect. RESOLUTION Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change. 1. Edit the \OS2\BOOT\CONFIG.M file and find the following SET statements: SET SOURCEPATH= SET FDISKETTESOURCE= 2. Change the statements as follows: * If you have NOT made a set of diskettes using the Diskette Factory program: SET SOURCEPATH=C:\DISKETTS\OS2V3 SET FDISKETTESOURCE=0 * If you HAVE made a set of installation diskettes, and the Diskette Factory program deleted the INSTALL directory tree located under \DISKETTS\OS2V3: SET SOURCEPATH=A: SET FDISKETTESOURCE=1 Note: When FDISKETTESOURCE is set to 1, you will be prompted to insert diskettes. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
