OSINAPMI - OS/2 WARP RED SPINE UPGRADE FROM OS/2 2.1 FOR WINDOWS FAILS APM.SYS 08/12/96 ====================================================================== OS/2 Warp Red Spine Upgrade from OS/2 2.1 for Windows Fails APM.SYS ====================================================================== Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION During restart, after a successful upgrade from OS/2 2.1 for Windows to OS/2 Warp for Windows (Red Spine), an "APM.SYS can not be found" error message appears. This is because OS/2 Warp Red Spine upgrade fails to remove the old 2.1 Advanced Power Management (APM) line from the CONFIG.SYS file. It leaves the line DEVICE=X:\OS2\APM.SYS and also adds a new line, DEVICE=X:\OS2\BOOT\APM.SYS. RESOLUTION Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and manually delete the line DEVICE=X:\OS2\APM.SYS. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
