OSINCOMP - CD-ROM AND SCSI DEVICE NOT FOUND ON COMPAQ SYSTEMPRO AND DESKPRO SERIES IN OS/2 WARP 01/29/96 ======================================================================= CD-ROM and SCSI Device Not Found on Compaq SystemPro and DeskPro Series in OS/2 Warp ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION During an installation of OS/2 Warp 3.0 from CD, a red screen appears with the message: Cannot find the CD-ROM. RESOLUTION Most of the Compaq SystemPro and DeskPro series have the built-in SCSI chip set on the system board, AMDPCNET-SCSI. OS/2 Warp does not come with the driver for that chip set, so the system does not recognize the CD-ROM or SCSI device attached to it. Compaq has an OS/2 SCSI device driver, AMSIO2.ADD, that works with OS/2 Warp 3.0. Contact the vendor about obtaining the driver file, SP0928.ZIP. ______________________________________________________________________ IBM disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of fitness and merchantability with respect to the information in this document.
