RESOLUTION DOS Versions That Fail: ----------------------- * MS DOS 6.2 * MS DOS 6.0 * PC DOS 6.1 DOS Versions That Work: ----------------------- * PC DOS 6.3 * IBM DOS 4.0 * Novell DOS 7.0 When MS 6.2 and MS 6.0 Fail: ---------------------------- * The screen states "Starting MS-DOS" with a flashing cursor on the next line. * The Drive A light stays on. * Ctrl+Esc does not work. * Ctrl+Alt+Del does not work. * You must turn power off and restart. * Once restarted, the Desktop displays the following window: System Error-DOS from Drive A: SYS0039 The A: device is not ready Options End Program/command/operation Retry command or operation OK HELP The DOS version is NOT the problem. The problem is DEVICE=A:\HIMEM.SYS in the CONFIG.SYS file. These versions will not work in OS/2 Warp 3.0 with this device statement in the CONFIG.SYS file.
