"Backlevel" of Device Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Is it appropriate to "backlevel" device drivers if OS/2 Warp 4 does not 
provide functional drivers for my specific hardware?


RESOLUTION

It is acceptable to "backlevel" drivers such as IBM1S506.ADD from OS/2 
Warp 4 with drivers from OS/2 Warp 3. It is not recommended to 
backlevel to earlier drivers. 

If your hardware is "unsupported", (if it is not SNOOPED or properly 
detected during installation and not in the list of supported devices) 
contact your hardware vendor for an OS/2 driver.  

If this does not resolve your problem and there are no hardware 
conflicts, IBM will not fix this problem as it is an OEM (original 
equipment manufacturer) issue.
