OSINHPFS - RUNNING SYSINSTX ON AN HPFS PARTITION 07/12/96 ======================================================================= Running SYSINSTX on an HPFS Partition ====================================================================== Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION When attempting to run SYSINSTX on an HPFS (High Performance Filing System) partition, the following error occurs: The type of file system for the disk is HPFS An internal error occurred. RESOLUTION This error occurs when the system cannot find the UHPFS.DLL file. To resolve the problem: 1. Insert OS/2 Utility Diskette (recommended) or OS/2 Installation Diskette 0 in drive A: and restart the system; insert Diskette 1 when prompted. If you are using installation diskettes, press F3 at the Easy or Advanced Option screen to go to a command prompt. 2. To start the HPFS filing system, run the CHKDSK command: * If using utility diskettes, insert Utility Diskette 3; * If using installation diskettes, insert OS/2 Installation Diskette 2; * If using CD-ROM installation diskettes, insert the OS/2 Installation CD-ROM, change to the D:\OS2IMAGE\DISK_2 subdirectory, where D: is the CD-ROM drive letter; Type CHKDSK X: and press Enter (where X: is the HPFS partition where OS/2 is installed). 3. To access the UHPFS.DLL file, change to the X:\OS2\DLL directory. 4.
