OSINLITO - SYSTEM LOCKS UP AT OS/2 WARP DISKETTE 1 WITH A BLANK SCREEN AND THE DRIVE LIGHT ON 02/01/96 ======================================================================= System Locks Up at OS/2 Warp Diskette 1 with a Blank Screen and the Drive Light On ======================================================================= Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures -------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION When installing OS/2 Warp on a PS/2 system with an AOX upgrade card, the system locks up at Diskette 1 with a blank screen and the diskette-drive light on. RESOLUTION The options diskette for the AOX card has two settings: NO: The default. YES: The system returns that it is a PS/2 Model 80. Change the setting to YES. If the system then locks up on drivers, such as IBMKBD and SONY31A: 1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file. 2. Remark-out (REM) all of the SCSI and CD-ROM driver statements (the BASEDEV statements at the end of the file). 3. Remark-out the IBM2FLPY.ADD driver statement. 4. Make sure the IBM1FLPY statement reads: BASEDEV=IBM1FLPY.ADD /MCA 5. Save and exit the file. This allows the system to display the Welcome screen so you can successfully install OS/2 Warp.
